Faith Holloway of Hospice UK Joins us for a Conversation on Bereavement and Grief at Work
Show Notes

Faith Holloway is the Compassionate Employers Programme Lead at Hospice UK in which role she consults extensively with organizations about how they can improve their bereavement policies and take better care of grieving employees.

Despite loss and grief being universal experiences, too few employers treat grieving employees in a humane and compassionate manner, relying instead on outdated policies and procedures that lack the human touch.  And Hospice UK's recent research shows most employees would consider quitting over a poor bereavement experience.

In addition to discussing what it means to be a compassionate employer, Faith and I talk about how leaders and colleagues can best support those grieving, the
need to ground bereavement policy in DEI and some of the common myths about loss and grief.

Grief is a natural response to loss but has a big impact on people's wellbeing.  I hope this powerful conversation inspires wellbeing leaders in organizations to revisit their bereavement policies and begin a broader discussion of grief as part of wellbeing
